WAYSIDE'S WALL OF LOVE

Post a message of support for our visitors to read so they know they are loved and not forgotten.

From one brother to another, no matter the circumstances every human being deserves a roof over there head and a home cooked meal. When I was a young boy my mother showed me and my sister a video from wayside chapel ( just until the other day we had no recognition of this) 25 years later I got clean and decided it's time to give back, randomly I choose wayside to support because there mission is so close to home for me. 5 years later and iv became a totally new man because of wayside chapels efforts. Wayside taught me that giving abit back never hurt anyone I CHOOSE LOVE OVER HATE.

With love and hope for All, I am humbled to have been fortunate enough to be able raise a little tiny bit towards helping others 🌻 I am undertaking my walk in my little town - this view is what I see where I walk. I hope its beauty spreads some joy.

You are not alone. Walking for you, with you and alongside you. Always hang on and never give up because there is always another side and you don't know when it will come. You don't want to miss it. Be there for the other side when it comes. Love JJ

The kms walked daily is hard, really feeling it and now understanding how difficult it must be. Please know there is a lot of love from Sydney peeps for Sydney peeps. People who have sponsored me have each told me how much they appreciate the care and the community provided by Wayside - the enormous help for people in a time of crisis. I hope the warm fuzzies being transmitted are reaching you! ♥️

This is just temporary, every day is another opportunity for a better day

Homelessness is not usually a choice. It is a very hard way to live and very hard to get out of. The most vulnerable of people need to be seen. They need our support.

When Ted Noffs married us in August 1970 he gave us back the $10 cost because he thought we needed it more than he did. He was such a wonderful man. See photo below

HOPE - that's what I have learned to cherise.  Yes we fall, yes we fail, yes sometimes we screw up everything we touch. But each moment we live, is connected by a belief that the actions we take now, will next day, next week, next life, add up to something more, something bigger than ourselves. And then well the possibilities are infinite..... For a better future...x

Homelessness is something that affects so many people . Being homeless can make someone feel less than , invisible , alone ..... this October I am choosing love Over hate to stand with those who need it the most . You are not alone , you are loved , and it will and does get better.

I was homeless before and I know how hard, lonely and scary it can be and how low it can make a person feel. I want to show solidarity with people who are going through it now. This can happen to anyone, life is wild but that it can get better, with a bit of support. My goal that I hope to reach is to raise enough to help 10 vulnerable people to get that support and have that safer better future they deserve. Everyone needs support sometimes. Much love and I hope I don't let you down!❤️‍🔥

With big love and long hugs for all of the brave souls who make their way to the Wayside Chapel. Never forget that you matter. The same sentiment for those with kind hearts who give of themselves to help people in need. My hope, for you all to be safe, warm, and cared for. Also for me to resist the blister and go the distance.

This is my third year waking with the Wayside Chapel to raise funds for our homeless in Sydney Australia, only this time I am walking virtually as I am still in the USA honouring my commitments as Ms Australia International 2023. I am Speaking, fundraising and donating all proceeds this year from my books to women and children of domestic violence through my own charity organisation WHEELS & DOLLS motorbike group. I am extremely passionate about this cause as well. I myself and my four young children found ourselves homeless in 2012 after DV, my house fire and financial theft. Sometimes we find ourselves in horrendous circumstances through no fault of our own. Whatever the reasons are it’s irrelevant because everyone deserves a roof over their heads. Please help me to help those in need by donating just a small amount to my walk and one of the best charities we have in Australia. Love & Light ~mpwowerusleeza~

I began walking early this year, in Melbourne where I live. I have a nasty knee injury so can only do small distances at a time. Beautiful evening walk to a local reserve to kick things off yesterday, inspired by the many donations I got after sending out a call for donations to my friends and acquaintances...

Hi everyone! Ive just joined the 28km long walk home week event. I have been experiencing homelessness myself on and off for 6 years now due to the cost of rent plus some personal issues. I have been very grateful to always at least have a roof over my head and to never go hungry but I know there are thousands out there who cannot say the same. Few of them I have had the pleasure of meeting. I love humanity and believe everyone deserves to be sheltered, showered and fed no matter the circumstance so I am happy to be part of a great cause. Thanks team, for what you are doing for the people on our streets 🥰 Also picture submitted is two different food parcels I received from Salvation Armt and St Vincent De Pauls.

avatar

Megan Simpson

You guys helped me so much when I was living on the streets 20 years ago, I’ll never forget it! Thank you so much for all you do!

I'm looking forward to walking in your shoes - sending love to each and everyone of you xx

I will be part of the Wayside Family for as long as I possibly can. There are only a few ways that I can support, financially and with prayer and messages of support. Doing the long walk home virtually is one way to support you in your hour of need. I will do my best to complete my virtual walk with dignity and love. Remeber that God and others that Love you.

I walk beside you. You are my relative I haven’t yet met. I imagine my hand in yours as I walk. At the end of the walk I imagine all of us in a big circle of love, belonging together.

I never thought I’d find a way out of my darkest rock bottom. I felt sick, alone and numb, I couldn’t see any other place for me to go except death. If I hadn’t found Wayside that is where I would have gone. Thank you for holding up a light.

My hope is that one day there will no longer be people who have to sleep rough, no more loneliness and isolation, no more judgement or hate. Until that time comes, thank God for the people who support the Long Walk Home! You matter, you are seen, and you are loved by many!!
