About the 1-day 28km Walking Event

The Long Walk Home is a 28km walk with the Wayside community from Parramatta Park to the El Alamein Fountain at Kings Cross on Saturday 7 October. It’s an inspiring journey, walking through Sydney from the afternoon into the night, knowing that every step you’re taking is helping support people sleeping rough, in crisis and facing social isolation.

Registered participants are asked to check in at 1pm at the Gawi Shelter, Pavilion Flat, Parramatta Park (located near the George St Gatehouse entrance), with the official walk commencing at 2pm.

We encourage you to share your achievements with your family and friends - you’ll receive incredible prizes and incentives with each fundraising milestone you reach.

The Route

We will be walking together from Parramatta Park to Kings Cross.

This is a general route guide, but a map with street names will be provided for your walk, and there will be volunteers to keep you on the right track.

Together, we will make strides for people experiencing homelessness.
